Water Baby

 Declan LOVES the water! He loves the bath, the pool, the shower. He loves watching the water come out of the faucet into the sink and putting his cute little feet into the water.

My mom had this brilliant Grandma idea this weekend of cooling down her hot tub so that it was perfect Declan temperature. Jonathan and I were on our way to go see a movie and have some couple time, but we couldn't miss hot tub swimming and of course Big Daddy Tree could not miss the oppurtunity to take some pictures! (He is busy practicing any chance he can outside because he is shooting Kait and Alex's wedding in September.)
Since we were going on a date and were already dressed and ready we had to sweet talk Ryan into getting in. Who are we kidding?! Ryan being the awesome, wonderful uncle that he is said "OF COURSE!" and he got it the hot tub with Declan!

First Plane Trip!

This past Thursday we took our very first plane trip as a family. Declan's first time on a plane... No parent wants to get on a plane and have "that child." You know that one that screams nonstop the whole flight. However, we were not that family. Declan did just perfect on the flight. I nursed him on take off and then he slept for the rest of the flight! Apparently flights do the same thing to Declan as they do to Jonathan, put them to sleep! Thank goodness he inherited that from his dad and not his mom. We flew from Albuquerque to Denver and then Denver to Great Falls. He was such a trooper, no complaints from Declan. He must love traveling as much as his parents!
We headed up to Shelby Montana for a family wedding. Megan Cross is now married to Aaron Makelky!!! Yay! It was such a beautiful and fun wedding. We were very blessed to be able to participate in the creating of their new family. On Thursday night we were able to gather around Uncle Mark and Aunt Lona's table and in their living room and catch up. It felt so good to be in Montana and to be with family. Friday we spent the better part of the day helping Megan transform the Shelby Civic Center in a wedding wonderland. And WOW, by the end it was beautiful.

That night was the rehearsal dinner and when all the other members of the Cross family arrived! We got to spend time with Aunt Corrine and Uncle Greg, Jonathan's cousin Lyndsay and Miss Jasper! Max, Lyndsay's son is getting to be such a big boy and had Declan cracking up with his pig noises! We got to see Jonathan's cousin Keila and meet her hubby Justin. We also got to meet their super sweet babies! Miss Athena will be two in September and gave Declan an extra special kiss at the end of the weekend. Angus and Olive, Keila and Justins twins, were about 12 weeks and so cute and cuddly!

Declan was well loved by everyone! And he did great being passed around and meeting all of the family! However, in Montana it doesn't get dark until close to 10pm. So....we didn't get to bed until well after 11pm. Yikes. We were exhausted after the weekend was over!

 Saturday was the wedding. They got married in the Catholic Church and Declan made it through most of the mass by sitting with us. By the end he was getting a little bit restless so he and I joined the rest of the restless children and their parents outside in the wind.The reception was gorgeous. Walking into the reception you would never know that two days prior it was a gym. We had a fabulous time chatting with family and we even got a few dances in! I could ramble on for forever about how wonderful it was to see everyone or how much fun we had, but it just wouldn't do it justice. So of course we will include a good deal of photos!

ROLL OVER, ROLL OVER

That is right our sweet boy rolled over yesterday! He rolled over from his back to his tummy! Yay! So proud of you!

4 Month Birthday!

Happy 4 month birthday sweet sweet boy!

• 97th percentile for height and weight
• 17lbs and 13 oz
• 27 inches long
• Usually sleeps for a 5-6 hour stretch per nigh. Although starting last week we hit another growth spurt so we are eating every 2.5-3 hours.
• He loves his jump-jump, prefers his left leg!
• Everything goes in the mouth
• He is drooling more and more (Daddy says baby drool is like Phoenix tears, it cures everything), but no teeth. For this mommy is very thankful!
• He is thinking really hard about rolling over. He gets up onto his side, then rolls back onto his back.
• He likes to sit up, with assistance
• He needs to know what is happening around him!

How did we celebrate?!
Well for starters we found a pediatrician that we love!!! Or at least mommy and Declan do, Daddy didn't get to meet him because he was at camp. Let me tell you that finding the right pediatrician is a really stressful experience, so I am thankful that the hunt is over! Yay!
After Declan's 4 month visit we got in the car for another trip up to Camp Enchantment! Jonathan had been up there since Friday night. Declan and I had been up on and off throughout the week. We got up there in time for afternoon swimming and Declan got in the swimming pool for the first time and he also got to go under the water! He did awesome! He had a great time in the pool and he loved camp. Of course, he loved camp. He has two amazing camp counselors for parents!
Also Declan got to meet the campers! They absolutley adored him and he loved all of the attention. He also got to spend some quality time with our friend Arielle! He LOVED her! Arielle got to snuggle and make him giggle, she also got to wear him in the carrier.

Declan also attended his very first camp dance. He slept through the first parts of it, but when he woke up he really enjoyed the music and the dancing. He had so much fun that by the time he got in the car seat for the drive home, he was out in about thirty seconds, no protesting the car seat this time!
