It has been a week since our Portland trip and I am just now getting around to writing this post. Phew! There are lots of those moments around this house lately. I am off of school for umm...two more days! There is a lot to cram in and get down. However, I feel so scatter brained that I think my productivity level is remedial when compared to Jonathan's super stellar organizational powers. WOW.
We went to Portland, OR and met up with Jonathan's brother, his wife and their two children, Emilee and Kaylee and also Jonathan's mom and Michael were there as well. So fun to get to see Emilee being her fun and sassy two year old self, we haven't seen her since she was about 11 weeks old. We had never met Kaylee and they had not yet met Declan. We spent most of the day on Friday at the zoo! We LOVED the zoo! It really was amazing and we spent about 5 hours or more walking around and catching up and us New Mexicans were in awe of the greenery.
Saturday we spent the day at the Portland Saturday Market and walking the river and playing in the fountains! We were blessed with absolutely GORGEOUS weather.
Declan, of course, following in his World Rambler parents footsteps just cruised along with all of the travel. Super excited to take him on his first international trip here soon!!! However, we are quickly growing out of the stage where he can sit on our laps on the plane. Luckily we flew Southwest Airlines, who are super baby friendly and tolerant. Declan has also learned that if he walks his hands up the back of the seat in front of us and walks his feet up the seat he is sitting in, he can plank across the seats and almost make it all the way up. Very funny for us, but I am sure the people in front of us, were not.
My beloved pink canon camera finally met its end on the Portland trip, so we didn't get near as many photos as we would have liked. Maybe we will get lucky and our family will send us the ones they took on the trip then I will get them up!
Gosh so much to update everyone on, just hoping for some of Big Daddy Trees energy to wear off on me!
Love and Laughter,
The Mommy Tree
