This weekend I was just thinking of all those things that happen as a parent that are either funny, gross, silly and even somewhat traumatizing. I would like to think that as far as traumatizing goes, we have that covered after Declan's birth, at least until the teenage years.
- Baby butts are the cutest thing I have ever seen! We get to see a lot of Declans sweet little cheeks because he LOVES to be naked. Just LOVES IT! When he sounds like we might be headed to meltdown mode we strip him down and put him under his play gym and he is in heaven. Now he isn't always enthusiastic about the play gym when he has his clothes on...
- We bought Declan a Power Wheels Viper! At a garage sale! It is so AWESOME! Both Jonathan and I really wanted them as kids and never got one, so we bought one for Declan. And for $40 who can pass up that deal!
Why didn't we think of that sooner?
- His favorite teething toy at the moment is one I payed ten cents for at a garage sale...
- This past week at night when Jonathan changes Declan's diaper, Declan pees immediately and sprays the wall...its time to bust out the PeePee TeePee's!
- Go to all of the Mommy Market sales! In my opinion much better than its competitor The Mother Load sale. At the beginning of May My mom, Jonathan, Declan and I went up to Santa Fe to check out their sale. My mom got a very gently used high chair for around $30 (new ones are ($150 +) Declan got clothes that fit! He is such a strong healthy boy that he was busting out of his 3-6 month clothes! He wears 6-12 month clothes from Gap, which is pretty much all mommy puts him in and 9 months in Carters.
- Thanks to a friend from high school, she suggested using wool inserts in his diapers at night to help with the super pees...why didn't I think of that...Thank you Kyla!
- Baby poop (the yellow breast fed baby kind) smells like the taste of Buttered Popcorn Jelly Belly's... My least favorite of the jelly beans, although Jonathan says now he can never eat that flavor again. I am thankful that I finally put those two smells together.
- I bought an ergo carrier! Declan quickly outgrew his Baby Bjorn as his legs were kicking me in the thighs, and he was getting a little too heavy for that type of carrier.
