Day 7 - Thankful for Hotel Mom

The plumbing in our house had to be replaced.  Not just some of it or part of it...all of it.  It begun on Wedneaday and our home is a complete disaster...with no water.

To add to everything - Tara was in our closet gathering clothes for our photos when *BAM* she got hit on the back of the head.  It wasn't until today that I realized what had hit her - a 5 pound weight that was on the top shelf of my closet.  :(  Oh, it was down right terrible.  She was in so much pain, got a concussion and I just felt awful about the whole thing.  I made us sleep with the light on and checked her every hour.  We made it through the night and after a knock like that, I imagine it will be some time before she feels 100%.   So a long story short, that's why we missed our Day 7 post.

So which leads us all to being very very thankful for Linda. Actually thankful isn't really the right word...umm how about angel on Earth...I don't know if that is right either. Well she sure feels like our savior sometimes. Last night after being at the disaster house it was nice to have a warm and inviting place to lay our heads. In fact we were all so peaceful and comfortable that we (Tara and Declan) slept through until my alarm this morning. Not even a twitched muscle for either of them, I know because I poked both of them to make sure they were still breathing!
We call Linda's house  Hotel Mom!  Did you know, when Tara and I returned from our world trip, we lived with Linda!  It was an enjoyable and wonderful time. It was the perfect recipe for a solid relationship and friendship. We loved being there so much that we do find ourselves often saying "hey lets go stay at Hotel mom tonight!" or asking "uuuhhhh is it ok if we just stay at your house tonight?" and sometimes we stay for a few days.
And Declan, he loves it here too. He has great toys, he loves the dogs and the cats. He LOVES the stairs and all of Grandma's potted plants (actually just the potting soil!) Grandma Linda sings to Declan and just recently he started singing back to her. "Yummy Yummy I got love in my tummy!" and he responds back in his Declan babble with impressive tone and pitch!
Incredibly thankful and feeling blessed to have Linda in our lives. We are so grateful that she has been so open and inviting, and tolerant! MUCH LOVE TO GRANDMA LINDA!!!

Anyone else out there have a Hotel Mom?

Once we get back to all of our photos we will get some more up here!
